Picking a Team of the Season is never easy – especially when the Barclays Women’s Super League has delivered drama, star quality, and breakout performances from the very first whistle.

We’ve seen Sonia Bompastor make a statement in her first season at Chelsea, bringing fresh energy to an already elite squad. Grace Clinton has levelled up yet again, proving she’s one of the most exciting young midfielders in European football. And at the top end of the pitch, the Golden Boot race between Alessia Russo and Bunny Shaw has been unmissable – two elite strikers going goal-for-goal. Ice in their veins.

From last-minute winners to season-long masterclasses, the league has been blessed with ballers stepping up when it matters most. So who better to decide the ‘Team of the Season’ than the players themselves?

As EA SPORTS FC 25 unveils its much anticipated ‘Team of the Season’ for the Barclays WSL, we asked some of the league’s very best players to name some of the ballers they believe should have made the cut. Real recognise real.

Find out who made the official EA SPORTS FC 25 Barclays WSL Team of the Season now.

Katie Stengel, Crystal Palace:

“Lexi Potter would definitely make my Team of the Season. She’s been asked to play a very big role as a young player but she’s become integral to our midfield. I think Yui Hasegawa is an unsung hero for Manchester City. She’s so good on the ball and brings a lot to that team, links up the play incredibly well. I think a midfielder like her can often go unnoticed but if she isn’t there, things don’t flow as well, you don’t attack as much, and you don’t create as effectively. She’s world class.”

Ruby Mace, Leicester City:

“Asmita Ale has been outstanding for Leicester all year. She works so hard and gives her all in every game, she’s one of the players who can leave the pitch knowing she’s put in 100 per cent after every game and you can never take that for granted. I’d like to pick Olivia Smith too, this is her first season in the Barclays WSL – a really difficult league – but she’s taken it in her stride. She really understands what her teammates need and she’s already one of the league’s most skilled players.”

Jayde Riviere, Manchester United:

“I think Elisabeth Terland is a player that deserves credit. It’s her first season with us and you want your strikers to be scoring goals, she’s done exactly that! The person I’ve enjoyed watching the most this season has actually been Ella Toone, she’s still playing incredible football after everything she’s gone through. She’s been an inspiration to so many people. Away from my teammates, I’m always impressed by Guro Reiten at Chelsea and I think Olivia Smith has been amazing at Liverpool, she’s one of the biggest future stars in the league.”

Michelle Agyemang, Brighton & Hove Albion FC:

“I’ve been so impressed by Madison Haley as a teammate. She has all of the attributes to be an amazing player – super technical and very physical. Away from Brighton, I love watching Mary Fowler at City. She’s put in consistent performances all season and it shows when you look at her goals and assists. I also think Olivia Smith has proven herself at Liverpool this season and she’s going to be one of the most exciting players in the game in a couple of years.”
