adidas are set to release a Lionel Messi black and gold Samba just in time for Copa América. 

The sneakers will arrive in smooth black leather with velvety suede, accentuated by metallic gold accents in the form of the adidas Three Stripes, heel counter, ‘SAMBA’ lettering and Messi’s ‘M’ logo situated on the tongue. 

Earlier this year adidas unveiled several special Samba silhouettes for the eight-time Ballon d’Or winner, including a bespoke design created by Argentine designer Stepwise, as well as a pink Inter Miami-inspired pair plus a white and blue colourway - perfect for the La Albiceleste captain. 

adidas recently shared a report on the economic impact the brand has seen since Messi’s move to the MLS last summer - with dedicated visits to his adidas microsite increasing by 60% in the last 12 months alone. 

The Lionel Messi x adidas Samba is rumored to be released from June 20, when the Copa América kicks off in the US.
