Nike have just doubled down on the return of the Hypervenom I, releasing an all-new colourway that nods to an innovation of the past.
'Transform Hydra' sees the classic silo reskinned, arriving with an icy white upper that adapts to its environment. The clue is in the boots' name, with its colourway transforming into a striking pattern comprised of black and blue hues when put in contact with moisture.
The shape-shifting feature pays tribute to a previous version of the Hypervenom, which was also the final colourway of its first edition. Released in May 2015, two years after the silo's original launch, an all-black upper would change into a vibrant orange when activated by heat.
Nike haven't used the groundbreaking innovation since, so it's only right they brought it back for its 10th anniversary. The Hypervenom I RGN merges the silo's classic Gripskin upper with the soleplate of the Hypervenom 3, offering up the best of both worlds when it comes to style and stability.
Lautaro Martínez isset to debut the boot, with the Inter Milan forward taking to the pitch in this weekend's Champions League final. If ever there was a boot built for big moments, it's the Hypervenom, so now could be the time for the Argentine to roll back the years and restore the feeling.
The Nike Hypervenom RGN 'Transform Hydra' does not have a confirmed release date yet so keep it locked to VERSUS to find out more.
