AFC Wimbledon and iconic Italian sportswear brand, Lotto, have agreed a new long-term deal to become the club's official kit supplier.

The new partnership sees the League Two club re-unite with one of the sleeping giants of football brands, having previously supplied their kits back in the 1990s when 'The Crazy Gang' were in the Premier League.

Launched in 1973, Lotto are one of the most legit heritage brands in the game. With their boots worn by the likes of Ruud Gullit and Andriy Shevchenko, and kit partnerships with some of Serie A's finest including AC Milan, Fiorentina, Napoli, Atalanta and Parma. The brand from Montebelluna was a force to contend with back in the day.

Their peak period arguably came around the millennium, and most memorably at the 1998 World Cup when Davor Šuker crashed home six goals to bag the Golden Boot in his Lotto Stadio Classics. His goals helped to fire Croatia – also in their iconic Lotto-manufactured kit – to an historic third place finish.

Whilst the Italian brand has been laying relatively low since the 2000s, this new deal arrives at a time when smaller brands are creating big noise in the game. Lotto need to run it back for the culture.
