Nike have finally blessed Vinícius Jr with his first-ever signature Air Zoom Mercurial.
After being the face of several Mercurial campaigns over the years, it was only a matter of time before the Brazilian got his own pair. The design is shaped by his journey through life and to the top of the game, from Rio right the way to Real Madrid.
The boots turn heads the same way Vini does, coming into frame with a colourway that brings the past and present together. A black upper is overlaid with two sides to his story — on one half, a gradient of red to yellow that covers his early years with Flamengo, and on the other, a mixture of blues, greens and yellows inspired by the national team.
Each panel is adorned with a repeated word mark pattern that reads 'Fly Vini, Vini Voa', with the same phrase stamped in black on the heel. An oversized Swoosh — seen on Nike's Vaporfly and Alphafly models — stretches across both sides, while a pearlescent outsole brings things together at the bottom.
The boots feature Nike's latest technology, including their contoured Gripknit upper and a unique three-quarter-length Air Zoom unit primed for acceleration. To ensure players are stable while moving at speed, Flyknit, alongside an integrated speed cage structure, keeps things locked down.
The Nike Vini Jr. Mercurial Vapor will be available via Nike and selected retailers from May 26.
