adidas are reportedly set to bring back Argentina's iconic jerseys from the 2006 World Cup.
The jerseys were some of the first to use the Three Stripes' +TEAMGEIST template, a design that adidas are bringing back this season ahead of its 20th anniversary next year. Having first been debuted in the build-up to the 2006 World Cup in Germany, it's only right the sportswear brand also look to run it up again, in preparation for the 2026 iteration of the competition.
Rumoured to arrive in their original design, the home shirt remake will take on La Albiceleste's classic combination of sky blue and white, complete with a gold TEAMGEIST trim outlining the torso. As for the away, a navy base is accented with the country's primary colours and gold detailing, with a subtle thin-striped pattern repeated throughout.
With Lionel Messi potentially entering his final World Cup next summer, the return of the jerseys he wore in his very first feels fitting. Although the jerseys won't be worn on pitch by the national team, they're certain to be a stadium staple as Argentina look to retain their crown as world champions.
No official details on the jerseys' release date have been confirmed, so keep it locked to VERSUS to find out more when news breaks.
