Nike are taking 'boots only summer' seriously, dropping another Mercurial inspired by the Air Max 95.
In celebration of the sneaker silo's 30th anniversary, Nike have released a pair of Mercurial Vapor 16s in an all-new appearance paying tribute to Sergio Lorenzo's original design.
The sneakers' iconic wave texture finds its way onto the Mercurial's 'Gripknit' technology, arriving in a 'Black/Solar Red' colourway. The black upper is layered with iridescent lining, wrapping its way across the boots' midsole before settling towards the classic T-shaped toebox.
The soleplate delivers a similar shimmering look as well as being etched with the Air Max 95's anniversary date. Other details include an 'Air Zoom' tag on the tongue, reworking the iconic AM logo, and the signature mini-Swoosh placed towards the back of the boot in pink.
The special Mercurial Vapor x Air Max 95 release follows in the footsteps of Nike's Superfly iteration last month, worn on pitch by Kylian Mbappé. This time around though, it looks like the France international's Real Madrid teammate, Viní Jnr, will be debuting the Swoosh's latest sneaker x boot mash-up.
