adidas and Newcastle United have unveiled their third kit for the 2025/26 season, paying tribute to an iconic look of the past.
Arriving with a similar colour palette to the club's 1997/98 third jersey, the release serves up a contemporary take on a classic. A navy base keeps things simple, subtly detailed with pinstripes throughout, while orange and pale green accents nod back to the bold details of the original from 28 years ago.
Like the OG, the club crest sits within a shield outlined in orange, joined up with the classic Trefoil logo — a regular of the Three Stripes' third shirts. A layered trim lines the collar, which changes from a tight crew neck to a flat knit EQT offering, while the same stack of colours cuffs the ends of both the long- and short-sleeved versions.
The on-pitch edition of the jersey was made with HEAT.RDY technology, featuring a series of innovations that maximise airflow. Designed to keep players cool and comfortable, the same experience can be enjoyed by fans, too, thanks to adidas' AEROREADY technology, which uses sweat-wicking materials to keep things dry.
The jersey is set to be debuted against Celtic on July 19, a match that marks the first ever adidas Trophy. As was the case with their home shirt release, £5 from every sale on the club's official website will go to their foundation, which works closely with the local community across a range of grassroots projects in the North East.
The adidas and Newcastle United third shirt is available now online and via select retailers.
