We've finally seen Nigeria take off at the World Cup after beating Iceland 2-0 on Friday, and now Nike have produced a film celebrating 'Naija' - the unique way in which Nigerians approach both football and life.
Nigeria's "unbridled, optimistic and confident approach to football" has been documented in the new short by lifelong Super Eagles fan, Andrew Dosunmu, a Nigerian photographer and filmmaker, known for his work in documentaries, music videos and feature films such as 2006's “The African Game.”
Featuring conversations with ex-player Segun Odegbami, a star of the 1980 Nigerian Africa Cup team, and current Super Eagle players like Odion Ighalo and Wilfred Ndidi through to afrobeat star Davido and photographer Aisha Angie Kuta, the film showcases how football dominates Nigerian life and explores the self-belief of both team and country.
