Drawing inspiration from Umbro’s extensive archives from the 1980s and ‘90s, Lazy Oaf x Umbro puts a bright and colourful twist on traditional sportswear silhouettes.
With Lazy Oaf’s distinctive bold prints and Umbro’s iconic logo, the capsule is a perfect mix of the two brands.
Umbro’s diamond logo sits in the middle of red hearts on a pinafore dress with ribbon fastenings, complete with matching socks whilst the multi-panelled corset and football jersey use interlocking diamonds to purposefully reflect Lazy Oaf’s signature eye motif.
Inspired in part by terrace fashion, the collection features a coach jacket with the same red heart design found on the pinny dress. Meanwhile, a ‘90s influence is apparent in the colour-blocked, parachute tracksuit bottoms. Continuing the feminine reimagination of traditional ‘blokey’ styles, a dress in the design and material of a track jacket is one of the capsule’s highlights.
To present the collection and further express the perfect balance of the two brands in the design, the capsule was modelled by players from Baesianz FC and Rain On Me FC – two gender-inclusive grassroots teams from the brands’ base cities of London and Manchester.
The Lazy Oaf x Umbro collection is available to shop on the Lazy Oaf website and the brand’s flagship store in Soho.
