Esports organisation Faze Clan has just launched an all-female professional team, which will compete in this year’s Valorant Champions Tour Game Changer Series.

The announcement, which came on International Women’s Day, is in line with Faze Clan’s efforts to address the underrepresentation of women in the esports industry.  Gender-based discrimination is an issue that the male-dominated sport has faced since its inception. However, with the increased visibility of women in gaming and esports circles in recent years, more industry giants have made efforts to be more inclusive - including Guild Esports, backed by David Beckham, who also recently announced the launch of their own all-female team.

Erik Anderson, Head of Esports at Faze Clan, said: “signing this group of talented women is just the beginning of bringing female gamers to the forefront at Faze, and I can’t wait to watch them play as a team.”

The newly formed, all-female team will participate in the 'Game Changer' series, an inclusive space for gamers - regardless of gender - to enjoy the world of esports.

As Faze Clan’s newest game changers prepare for the upcoming season, this announcement will hopefully attract more women to the game, as the brand continues to push for a more inclusive industry.
