Nike has been crowned the most dominant brand in football, with the iconic Swoosh blessing more shirts than any other brand.

Nike provide more kits than any other brand in European football, contributing technical apparel to 16% of the 237 sponsored clubs making up Europe's big six leagues. adidas were ranked in second place, manufacturing 11% of kits. Surprisingly, Macron finished in third place with 10%, while PUMA had 9%. The figures were revealed in the annual 'European Club Football Report' from IQUII Sport.

The result caps a big season for Nike who sponsored the 2018/19 domestic champions in England, Spain and France – while they also dropped a host of the drippiest kits of the year including ice cold drops for Paris Saint-Germain, Barcelona and Inter Milan.

The last 12 months has also seen Nike challenge what we expect to see from a football performance brand, dropping a series of mash-up jerseys for their biggest clubs and partnering with Virgil Abloh and Off-White on a one-of-a-kind capsule collection. Last summer also saw the drop of Nigeria's instant classic World Cup kit, and the first link up between PSG and Jordan Brand.

As we enter the new season though, there are already signs adidas are hitting back hard. The Three Stripes welcomes Arsenal into its family of clubs for the 2019/20 season, and have dropped fire kits for Juventus and Real Madrid already this summer.
