Eberechi Eze’s Eze Foundation recently joined forces with Burberry to provide a unique work experience opportunity to students from John Roan School, where Eze attended secondary school.
Sharing a mission of empowering young people to develop their skills and broaden their career horizons, Burberry hosted 25 John Roan sixth form students for an ‘Inspiration Day’ filled with valuable work experience and insightful lessons.
Students were able to shadow different Burberry employees, gaining insight into multiple aspects of the luxury house such as design, marketing and merchandising. They participated in interactive workshops, received mentorship from leading industry experts and had the opportunity to ask questions and learn from the best.
The collaboration with the Eze foundation builds on Burberry’s global youth programme, Burberry Inspire, and aims to introduce students to different aspects of the fashion industry, giving them knowledge that could inspire future career choices and offer first-hand experience to business and employment.
The Eze Foundation was built on introducing young people to new skills and hobbies and creating future career opportunities for the next generation of change-makers that otherwise may not have had the chance. This collaboration with Burberry, though just a one day event, has opened the historically exclusive world of fashion to a new demographic.
The Burberry Inspiration Day is just one of many initiatives the Eze Foundation has organised in its first year. Other events included school raffles during Christmas, A trip to Crystal Palace’s training ground, the annual Eze Invitational grassroots tournament and a school visit from a local fire brigade to showcase a fire engine and different career possibilities. With all these initiatives taking place in the last 12 months, there’s no limit to what the Eze Foundation can achieve.
