Marcus Rashford just equalled an all-time England record that has stood for 52 years.
After England wrapped up 2018 with a dramatic 2-1 win over Croatia to advance to the Nations League finals, Marcus Rashford ends the calendar year with 16 caps for the national team – the most earned in a single year since Jack Charlton in 1966.
Rashford is now an automatic selection for Gareth Southgate in England's new look team, playing 16 of England's 17 games in 2018. His four goals for the Three Lions in 2018 helped England to the World Cup semi-finals and fifth place in the FIFA world rankings – the 21-year-old is a leading light of England's new wave.

The country's surprise run to the semi-finals in Russia contributed to a heavy fixture list for England this year, which also saw the inclusion of the Nations League in addition to international friendlies.
