To commemorate Mo Salah's record-breaking Golden Boot-winning season at Liverpool this season, adidas have donated a pair of Salah’s X 17+ Deadly Strike boots to the British Museum, where they will now be displayed at the world-renowned Egyptian collection.
Salah has been in lethal form for both club and country this season, winning hearts all over the world and smashing records all over the place in the lightweight silhouette.
Notching 32 goals in the Premier League saw him win the 2017/18 Golden Boot as well as securing record for the highest number of goals by one player in a single 38-game campaign. He's grabbed 44 goals in total across all competitions, and he's looking to score yet more when he takes on Real Madrid in the UEFA Champions League Final in 8 days time.
Neal Spencer, Keeper of Ancient Egypt and Sudan said, “This acquisition brings the British Museum’s world-famous Egyptian collection right up to date. The boots tell a story of a modern Egyptian icon, performing in the UK, with a truly global impact. Displayed amidst the statues of ancient pharaohs, we now show the boots with which Mo Salah won the Golden Boot for Liverpool." Check out all the other record Salah has broken this season right here.
