British football icon Umbro takes a magnifying glass to their expansive archive to deliver a new line-up of footwear silhouettes under the Archive Research Project (ARP).
When it comes to football, there aren't too many brands that can boast a historical presence quite like Umbro, making their kit debut in the 1934 FA Cup final. Before long the brand became the official sports manufacturer of the England team and official sponsor of The FA, fast establishing themselves as a sporting powerhouse. Given their illustrious history, it is no surprise that Umbro is tapping into their archive for a set of 90s inspired sneaker silhouettes under the Archive Research Project. First introduced for SS19, the APR collection has received a serious update for AW19 with new iterations of the NEPTUNE and RUN M FUTURE FLUO appearing alongside the brand new PHOENIX.
The NEPTUNE comes complete with an on-trend oversized build, refitted with a seasonally appropriate black palette. Next up is the RUN M FUTURE FLUO that features an ankle-high sock-shoe hybrid silhouette and twin-layered sole, putting the silhouette toe-to-toe with some of the markets chunkiest builds. If the collection's 90s influence wasn't apparent, the PHOENIX perfectly encapsulates the running shoe aesthetic of the era with a mixed fabrication and predominantly white upper fitted with bright contrasts of pink and blue.
